Bible Verses whenever you are feeling lonely, angry or depressed

Being a mom is hard enough but being a mom of a child on the spectrum is much more difficult and draining. Every day is a new challenge. From going to various therapies to fighting with insurance companies and dealing with meltdowns, it is very hard for special needs moms to catch a break and relax. And even if you do get a break, you may be spending your time wondering why your child is not like the others or why God did this to you. Your faith in God may be faltering but remember every child is a gift from God. He may have created your child for a special purpose; you may not see it now but believe it.

We know that it is hard work and as a mom it must wrench your heart to see your child struggle. But it's okay, everyone has been there once in a while. Just try to stick to your faith.  God always wants us to remember him in both good and bad times. So to help you reconnect with God here are a few Bible verses you can read that will bring you comfort.

Bible Verses for when you are feeling discouraged

Every day is tiring. You try to make things easier for your child but sometimes it just doesn’t seem enough. You see your friend’s children living a normal life while you have to take your child to different appointments and therapy sessions every day. Sometimes all this can pile on and make you feel extremely discouraged and overwhelmed and this is understandable. You pour your heart out daily hoping something changes, that your child doesn’t suffer but nothing seems to work. So for whenever you’re feeling discouraged try reading these verses to feel better.

  • John 14:1

Don’t let your heart be troubled. Believe in God. Believe also in me.

  • Isaiah 51:11

Those ransomed by Yahweh will return, and come with singing to Zion. Everlasting joy shall be on their heads. They will obtain gladness and joy. Sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

  • Philippians 4:6–8

In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report: if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think about these things.

  • Hebrews 10:35–36

Therefore don’t throw away your boldness, which has a great reward.  For you need endurance so that, having done the will of God, you may receive the promise.

  • Psalm 138:7

Though I walk in the middle of trouble, you will revive me. You will stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies. Your right hand will save me.

Bible Verses for when you are feeling Lonely

As a special needs mom, it is not unusual to feel lonely. You feel like you have no one who can relate to your struggles. You cannot go out and hang out with your friends as others can because it is hard finding a babysitter who can look after your child.  All of this is understandable but instead of sinking into that feeling of loneliness and feeling sad for yourself, try connecting with God with these bible verses

  • Isaiah 41:10

Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

  • Isaiah 54:10

For the mountains may depart, and the hills be removed; but my loving kindness will not depart from you, and my covenant of peace will not be removed,” says Yahweh who has mercy on you.

  • Deuteronomy 4:31

Bible Verses for when you are feeling Angry

Feeling angry is a completely normal emotion for a special needs mother. We understand that you must be angry at the situation, your life or even at God himself for what he has done to you and you’re your family. But it is always better to nip this feeling of anger at the bud itself because if we don’t then this anger will only grow and it does no good for you or your child. It is not a good environment for your child to grow up in They are stressed as it is and when they see you in an angry mood it might stress them out even more and they might go into sensory overload. Thus whenever you are feeling angry try to think about all the good memories you have with your child and think about all the things you are grateful for. If you find doing that difficult, try reading these bible verses to help you find peace.

  • Psalm 37:8

Cease from anger, and forsake wrath. Don’t fret; it leads only to evildoing.

  • James 1:19–20

So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger; for the anger of man doesn’t produce the righteousness of God.

  • Proverbs 14:16–17

A wise man fears and shuns evil, but the fool is hot headed and reckless.  He who is quick to become angry will commit folly, and a crafty man is hated.

  • Proverbs 16:32

One who is slow to anger is better than the mighty; one who rules his spirit, than he who takes a city.

Ephesians 4:31–32

Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice.  And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you.

Every day is a new challenge not only for your kid but for you as well. You are fighting for services, falling deeper into debt, travelling from doctor to doctor and constantly feeling lonely.
